About Global Fashions
Global Fashions was founded in 2010 by producer/director: Robin Adams. There has since been two highly successful shows on August 29th, 2010 and August 28th, 2011. In 2011, the show grew to twice its 2010 size with a cast of 100 people from over 24 different cultures. Both shows were well attended by nearly 200 people in the audience and well sponsored with numerous donations from local businesses. Mayor Dean Fortin of Victoria was the special guest speaker and introduced the finale in 2011. Global Fashions has raised a total of $4790. 79 in 2010/2011 for local community enhancing charitable programs. 100% of the profits made from Global Fashions are always donated directly to local community programs.
Global Fashions aims to include everyone, regardless of age, gender, religion, sexual orientation or race. The oldest model that has graced the runway stage so far was 91 years old in 2010. A total number of 27 different cultures have been featured between the 2010 and 2011 shows through music, dance, modeling of traditional cultural fashions and performance arts. The Global Fashions logo (above) and concept was created by Creative Gravity Graphic and Communications Design. Each strand in the globe represents a different unique and beautiful culture. Together, these cultures make up the world. This represents both what we do as a community event and what we aim to project to the community.
